ABOUT US

Trident Defensive Arts was established due to a need for an affordable, common sense approach to self defence in today’s environment. However, the general consensus about self defence is “just about punching or kicking”, when in reality it is so much more.

In our workshops and classes, we dive into the Canadian criminal code, use of force, and the reactionary gap as well as the psychological and physiological aspects of personal protection (dealing with stress and motor skills). As citizens, we must have an understanding of what is happening in our body’s and mind in the moment we are faced with violence and aggression, and what occurs to us afterwards.

Our programs are all-inclusive, welcoming everyone with varying experience levels, ages, genders, athletic abilities, nationalities, etc. Everyone is welcome to join in, learn, and have fun!

Our philosophy is simple - under NO circumstances do we condone violence however as a Canadian citizen, you do have the inherent right to self defence, and our responses to violence and aggression shall be legal, moral, and ethical.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS FROM MARTIAL ARTS?

There are many key benefits you can attain from martial arts training, such as:

Physical: stamina, endurance, muscle tone, weight loss, flexibility, balance and coordination, and stress reduction

Mental: self confidence, self discipline, positive attitude, patience, perseverance, respect, and courage

Other: improved concentration, increased awareness, knowledge of human anatomy, defensive strategies, self defence techniques, and an understanding of the legal aspects of self defence

School-aged kids, teens, and even adults have been aggressively inundated by social media, school, work, social settings, etc. so they are not getting the exercise their bodies and minds require. Martial arts training is a fantastic way to get back to the roots of exercising the mind, body, and spirit. It’s been proven that regular exercise will increase a person’s mood, focus and concentration, attitude, etc. as well as develop a deep appreciation of what a person’s body can actually do for them.
